I have been asked to write a few words about my distro.

Power distribution is an important aspect that is often overlooked. A great deal of the time a purchase or rental of a piece of equipment is made with no consideration for its power requirements.

We needed to offer a solution.

​

The first thing that we did was look around and see what was being done. What kinds of problems were there? How were they being solved?

​

I settled in on one big problem. How do you not blow up a light bar when someone accidentally plugs the wrong Socapex into your 208/240 Volt distro.

​

My answer to that was to adapt the configuration. By changing the pin combinations in the Break In & Break Out I was able to provide the 6 circuits of 208/240 Volt without the potential. I will explain.

A standard light bar configuration of Pin 1 Hot, Pin 2 Neutral, Pin 13 ground would make up circuit "1". This triangle would continue around the connector. In my configuration Pins 1 & 2 are Phase "A"; Pins 3 & 4 are Phase "B"; Pins 13 & 14 are ground. So, circuit "1" would be made of Pins 1, 3, & 13; circuit "2" would be Pins 2, 4, & 14. This twisted triangle would continue around the connector.

Although this requires proprietary Break Outs, it eliminates potential hazards/disasters during loadin.
